Littlehorn Engineering and Surveying
is a Colorado-licensed engineering firm providing
integrated site and building design services for residential and small commercial projects
throughout Colorado’s mountain communities.
Our work focuses on the complete development of a property—from early site evaluation
through final construction documents. Services commonly include civil site planning,
structural engineering, residential building design, onsite wastewater treatment system
(OWTS) design, wetlands evaluation, surveying, grading and drainage design, driveway design,
retaining wall design, and permitting coordination with local, state, and federal agencies.
Many Colorado properties present complex challenges such as steep terrain, shallow
bedrock, difficult soils, wetlands, and wildfire interface requirements. Our team regularly
works with these conditions and develops practical engineering solutions that allow projects
to be designed and constructed successfully.
Littlehorn Engineering provides coordinated engineering and building design services so that
the site design, structural systems, environmental considerations, and permitting
requirements are addressed together from the beginning of the project. This integrated
approach often reduces delays, minimizes redesign during construction, and helps control
overall project costs.
Our firm works closely with property owners, builders, contractors, and regulatory agencies to
guide projects through planning, design, and construction. Additional consultants may be
engaged when specialized disciplines such as mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or energy
systems are required.
John Littlehorn, P.E., leads the firm and is known for thoughtful engineering, practical
solutions, and a commitment to providing clients with clear guidance throughout the design
and construction process.
